03/03/2025 (Agence Europe) – On 28 February, the Pakistan government launched the ‘R&R Pakistan’ project for the sustainable reintegration of returning migrants and improved migration management. Funded by the European Union in partnership with the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD), the programme aims to improve the socio-economic reintegration of Pakistani returnees, particularly women and people with disabilities. It also aims to improve post-arrival assistance for Pakistani returnees and medium- and long-term services for sustainable reintegration. The project is in line with the objectives of the European Union-Pakistan Dialogue on Migration and Mobility established in 2022, and is part of a wider EU support, in partnership with the ICMPD, to Pakistan’s migration and border management efforts.
