03/03/2025 (Agence Europe) – The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and Brazil’s National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the intention of developing significant cooperation in the fields of aviation safety and sustainability, according to an EASA press release published on Friday 28 February. They agreed to increase their exchange of information and data in order to better understand the problems of the Latin American region and to promote, develop and strengthen technical cooperation between the two organisations. Particular emphasis will be placed on the contribution of the use of sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) to the development of air transport, and in particular on the implementation of measures to support the development of SAF, including capacity building and investment. The signing ceremony took place in the presence of the Deputy Head of the European Delegation in Brazil, Jean-Pierre Bou. (AD)
