2025 edition of Berlinale opens with fourteen films supported by European Union

13/02/2025 (Agence Europe)The Berlin International Film Festival will be celebrating its 75th edition from 13 to 23 February with fourteen films supported by the EU, selected in several categories. These works have received funding of €1.6 million under the MEDIA strand of the Creative Europe programme. The Argentinian-Spanish film El mensaje, by Iván Fund, is competing for the Golden and Silver Bears. The winners will be announced at the closing ceremony on 23 February. As it does every year, the European Commission will be taking part in the European Film Market on the fringes of the festival, organising a round-table discussion on 15 February on the attractiveness of the European audiovisual sector to young people, as well as information sessions on the opportunities offered by the MEDIA programme designed to help the European film and audiovisual sectors to develop, distribute and promote European works.
