16/12/2024 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 16 December, the Council of the European Union adopted restrictive measures against four individuals accused of threatening peace and security in Sudan, where fighting between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) continues. Among those targeted are Mohamed Ali Ahmed Subir, head of military intelligence for the SAF, Salah Abdallah Mohamed Salah, former national security adviser, Osman Mohamed Hamid, head of operations for the RSF, and Tijani Karshom, de facto governor of West Darfur, accused of recruiting militias for the RSF. The sanctions include an asset freeze, a ban on being financed by an EU person or entity and a ban on entering EU territory.
