EU Council prolongs and strengthens mandates of Operation ATALANTA and EUTM Somalia

On Monday 16 December, the EU Council decided to prolong the mandate of the European Union naval Operation ATALANTA and the European Union military training mission in Somalia (EUTM Somalia) until 28 February 2027.

On 5 December, the EU prolonged the mandate of the EUCAP Somalia civilian mission until 28 February 2027 and the mandate of its head of mission, Kęstutis Lančinskas, until 31 December 2025.
