06/12/2024 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 6 December, the Commission published a notice of review concerning its countervailing duty on Indonesian biodiesel, which will soon expire. In September, the sector’s continental representative, the ‘European Biodiesel Board’ (EBB), submitted a request for a review, which the Commission deemed admissible. It considered that EBB had provided sufficient evidence of the persistence of significant subsidies on Indonesian biodiesel. Furthermore, the Commission’s right to impose such a measure was strengthened by the ruling of the Court of Justice of the EU in October, which validated European countervailing duties (see EUROPE 13506/22).
