06/12/2024 (Agence Europe) – At its study days in Budapest on Friday 6 December, the European Parliament’s Patriots for Europe group adopted a political declaration calling for a tougher EU anti-migration policy. The group calls on Member States to allow only those eligible for international protection to enter and remain in the EU, and calls for the creation of an ‘asylum stability fund’ to support the reception of asylum seekers in third countries. The first safe third country must receive these asylum applications and the list of these countries must be extended. It wants regular assessment of refugee status and the expulsion of radical refugees and asylum seekers. The group also wants strict measures against NGOs aiding migrants.
