European Parliament’s Patriots for Europe group wants new European fund to ensure asylum applications are first lodged in safe third country

06/12/2024 (Agence Europe) – At its study days in Budapest on Friday 6 December, the European Parliament’s Patriots for Europe group adopted a political declaration calling for a tougher EU anti-migration policy. The group calls on Member States to allow only those eligible for international protection to enter and remain in the EU, and calls for the creation of an ‘asylum stability fund’ to support the reception of asylum seekers in third countries.
