25/11/2024 (Agence Europe) – The members of the World Trade Organization (WTO) are still unable to agree on the necessary reform of the Dispute Settlement Body (DSB), promised for 2024. Although work is at a more intensive stage than previously in Geneva, differences of position persist on fundamental issues such as access to the Appellate Body. There is less chance of achieving a stable text for the closing 2024 General Council. The Council is scheduled to take place on 16 and 17 December. On 21 November, the Chair of the General Council, Petter Ølberg (Norwegian), urged the members to continue their work and to see how far they could go before the General Council meeting in December.
