14/06/24 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 14 June, the European Commission announced the opening of an anti-dumping proceeding concerning imports of decor paper, originating in the People’s Republic of China. Four European producers of decor paper lodged a complaint with the European Commission in May 2024, suspecting that these products were being dumped. As the basis for this, they specifically drew upon the report published by the European Commission in April 2024, which documents China's unfair competition practices (see EUROPE 13388/26). The Commission now has a maximum of 14 months to conclude its investigation and to impose definitive anti-dumping duties. It may also decide on provisional tariffs within a maximum of eight months.
