Seoul lifts restrictions on French and Irish beef

On Thursday 13 June, the European Commission announced that South Korea was once again authorising imports of beef from France and Ireland. Since 2001 and the mad cow disease epidemic, the Korean market has been closed to beef imports from 15 EU member states, despite EU guarantees on food safety. In 2019, after lengthy discussions, Denmark and the Netherlands have already regained access. This is now also the case for France and Ireland. This decision is the result of negotiations...
