29/05/2024 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 29 May, the Belgian federal judicial police searched the home and Brussels office of a former assistant to far-right MEP Maximilian Krah (ID, German), as part of an investigation into MEPs and Parliament staff who were allegedly approached and paid to promote Russian propaganda via the Voice of Europe website (see EUROPE 13399/2), which is now banned from broadcasting in the European Union. The person concerned is Frenchman Guillaume Pradoura, who was parliamentary assistant to Nicolas Bay (ECR, French), then to Mr Krah and now to Marcel de Graaff (NI, Dutch). “There is evidence that the Parliament staff member in question played an important role in this affair”, according to AFP, citing an anonymous source. In 2019, Mr Pradoura was expelled from the French Rassemblement national party after publishing a photo with anti-Semitic connotations. (MB)
