29/05/24 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 28 May, the European Union condemned the previous day’s attempt by the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) to launch and place into orbit a spy satellite using a ballistic missile, which it described as a “clear and flagrant” violation of the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions. “The DPRK’s disregard for its international obligations continues to threaten regional and international peace and security”, deplored the EU in a press release issued by the European External Action Service (EEAS). It reiterated its call on the DPRK to cease actions likely to increase tensions and to accept the offers of dialogue that have been made by the main parties. (PLD)
