03/04/2024 (Agence Europe) – The ‘BlueInvest Investor Report 2024’, published on Wednesday 3 April by the European Commission, shows a significant increase in investment in the blue economy in recent years. According to the Commission, the BlueInvest initiative has been a driving force for this change (see EUROPE 13138/32). The report (https://aeur.eu/f/ble ) indicates that the volume of investment in the blue economy has increased considerably. It is three times greater than 10 years ago, reaching more than €13 billion over the five years between 2018 and 2023. In addition, since 2018, the number of deals in the blue economy has increased; around 270 deals have been done each year in the blue economy and at least 30 private equity/venture capital funds are focused on deals in the blue economy. This trend points to a positive outlook and a solid growth model for the sector. (LC)
