25/03/2024 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 25 March, the European Commission announced that it had approved, under the Temporary Framework for State Aid during crisis and transition periods, a Bulgarian aid scheme worth around €86.9 million (BGN 170 million) to support farmers affected by the consequences of Russia’s military aggression against Ukraine. The measure is aimed specifically at primary agricultural producers in the livestock, beekeeping and fruit and vegetable sectors, as well as producers of oilseed roses, wine and tobacco. The aid will reach these companies by 30 June 2024 at the latest in the form of direct grants not exceeding €280,000 per beneficiary. (EV)
