MEPs approve agreement with EU Council on centralised registers of bank accounts

On Tuesday 19 March, the members of the European Parliament’s Committee on Civil Liberties (LIBE) approved, with 49 votes in favour, one against and three abstentions, the provisional agreement with the Council of the EU on the revision of the directive aimed at establishing a single access point to facilitate access by the national competent authorities to centralised registers of bank accounts.
