MEPs approve political agreement on rules for collecting and transferring API passenger data

19/03/2024 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 19 March, the European Parliament’s Committee on Civil Liberties approved by 45 votes to 5 with 4 abstentions (see EUROPE B13362A3) the Interinstitutional Agreement on the new rules for the collection and transfer of passenger data known as API (Advanced Passenger Information). They will oblige air carriers to systematically collect and transmit passenger data to the competent authorities, and will apply to flights arriving in an EU country...
