14/03/2024 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 12 March, the European Commission launched a targeted consultation for stakeholders to give feedback on the functioning of the EU framework to help resolve cross-border tax disputes for businesses and citizens affected by double taxation issues. Such disputes may arise, for example, as a result of a mismatch between national rules or different interpretations of the transfer pricing rules in a double taxation treaty. Solving these problems can cost businesses and citizens time and money. Coming into force in July 2019, the Directive on Tax Dispute Resolution Mechanisms has introduced clearer rules and stricter deadlines for resolving these cross-border tax disputes (see EUROPE 12286/16). The consultation will be open until Friday 10 May. For more information: https://aeur.eu/f/bb7 (AD)
