Issuing travel documents – EU Court of Justice reaffirms equal treatment of EU citizens

Every citizen of a Member State has the right to be issued with an identity card, in addition to their passport, even if they reside in another European Union country, ruled the Court of Justice of the EU (CJEU) in a judgment handed down on Thursday 22 February (case C-491/21).
