22/02/2024 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 21 February, the French Minister for the Economy, Finance and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty, Bruno Le Maire, together with the Bulgarian Energy Minister, Rumen Radev, announced that a new meeting of the ‘Nuclear Alliance’ (see EUROPE 13317/3) would be held on 4 March, during the next Energy Council. He is taking over from the former French Energy Minister, Agnès Pannier-Runacher. “I think it has been a breakthrough in the history of energy in the EU. We strongly believe there is a use to follow on that initiative. That is why I have decided to resume that alliance”, said Mr Le Maire. He also explained that he intended to bring to the table an IPCEI (important project of common European interest) proposal, specific to the nuclear energy sector. (PLD)
