20/02/24 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 20 February, the Member States’ ambassadors to the EU (Coreper) approved the sending of a request for a consent vote by the European Parliament on the mid-term review of the 2021-2027 Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) (see EUROPE 13350/22). The European Parliament can only approve or reject this revision of the EU budget en bloc. Once Parliament has given its consent, the text will return to the Council for a final vote and signature. The extension to the EU budget provides for financial aid to Ukraine to the tune of €50 billion. “We have convened an extraordinary Coreper meeting to ensure that everything happens as quickly as possible and that we can start sending money to Ukraine at the beginning of March”, said the EU Council on Tuesday.
