20/02/2024 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday, 20 February, the European Commission announced €83 million in humanitarian aid for people affected by the war in Ukraine and Moldova. Of these funds, €75 million are earmarked for humanitarian projects in Ukraine that aim to provide emergency aid, specifically in order to meet basic needs such as shelter, protection services, drinking water, education, and healthcare. The remaining €8 million will go to humanitarian projects in Moldova so as to provide targeted aid to the most vulnerable individuals, including humanitarian cash assistance for basic needs, protection, and healthcare. Since February 2022, the European Commission has allocated €926 million to humanitarian aid programmes designed to help civilians affected by the war in Ukraine (€860 million for Ukraine and €66 million for Moldova).
