31/01/24 (Agence Europe) – In a joint letter to the European Commission on Tuesday 30 January, more than 60 business leaders from the heat pump industry warned that the postponement of the EU Heat Pump Action Plan, initially expected in early 2024, was jeopardising a European sector that is ”key” to reducing greenhouse gas emissions. They point out that this delay could jeopardise the €7 billion investment planned for the 2022-2025 period. “The European Commission’s decision to put the brakes on its action plan at a time when other regions of the world are stepping up their support is exactly the opposite of what is needed”, said Martin Forsén, President of the European Heat Pump Association. This letter follows the appeal launched the previous week by several organisations (see EUROPE 13334/15). To see the letter: https://aeur.eu/f/an8 (PLD)
