17/01/2024 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 16 January, around 20 tech companies and 9 trade associations published a joint letter calling on the gatekeepers designated by the Commission under the DMA to speed up their compliance with the requirements of the regulation. While the text stipulates that gatekeepers must be compliant by 7 March, the signatories of the letter - competing companies - consider that the gatekeepers are still “falling short of compliance” and ask them to engage in a “constructive dialogue” to achieve this. “It would be regrettable if this new era began with a false start, which will happen if the gatekeepers do not constructively engage with third parties”, say the signatories of the letter.
