13/12/23 (Agence Europe) – The Heads of State or Government of the countries of the European Union will set themselves the objective of reaching agreement “by the summer of 2024”, i.e. after the European elections in June, on the EU’s strategic agenda for the 2024-2029 legislative cycle, according to the draft conclusions of the European Council dated Tuesday 12 December, a copy of which has been made available to EUROPE. This agenda will set out “ the Union’s priorities and ways to achieve them in the coming years”, the document states. In his letter of invitation to European leaders, the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, points out that the EU27 must ensure that the Union is ready to face the future and welcome new members.
