EU Council and European Parliament seek compromise on directive governing corporate due diligence

The next, and perhaps final, round of negotiations between representatives from the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union on the proposal for a directive governing corporate due diligence will take place on Wednesday, 13 December, with high stakes on the table. The text must ensure that companies eliminate environmental and human rights violations in all areas of their business activities, including with their subcontractors.
