The President of the European Council, Charles Michel, and the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, arrived in Beijing on Wednesday 6 December for the first EU-China summit in four years. 

The summit aims to deepen and improve bilateral economic and trade relations (see EUROPE B13290A15), but also to exchange views on geopolitical and global challenges, such as Russia’s war of aggression in Ukraine, the conflict in the Middle East and security in the Indo-Pacific...
