MEPs oppose marketing of hybrid GM maize tolerant to glufosinate

01/12/2023 (Agence Europe) – As they systematically do in the name of protecting health and the environment, on 29 November the members of the European Parliament’s Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety (ENVI) opposed the market authorisation of a glufosinate-resistant hybrid GMO for food use in the EU: hybrid maize Bt11 × MIR162 × MIR604 × MON 89034 × 5307 × GA21 and 30 sub-combinations developed by Syngenta (Switzerland).
