EIT announces winners of its 2023 “Jumpstarter” competition

On Friday 1 December, the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) announced the results of the 2023 grand final of its “Jumpstarter” competition, held in Athens. This programme helps early-stage innovators to develop their business ideas and bring new products to market.

The competition focused on the creation of new businesses and the emergence of innovations in Europe.

52 teams presented their ideas for disruptive innovation (deep tech) in nine categories: digital, food, health, energy, manufacturing, raw materials, urban mobility, ‘New European Bauhaus’ and ‘Rebuild Ukraine’. The winners in each category will each receive €10,000.

In all, over a hundred innovators from Central, Eastern and Southern Europe, including the Western Balkans, the Baltic States and Ukraine, registered for the event, both online and in person.

The EIT has also announced that pre-registration for the “Jumpstarter” 2024 programme is now open.
