01/12/2023 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 29 November, the Fit for Future platform, which is helping the European Commission to simplify European Union law, adopted its work programme for 2024. It will focus on analysing the administrative burdens associated with declaration obligations and will identify simplifications in EU legislation governing organic production and the creation of QR codes on products. The platform’s work will feed into the Commission’s mid-term evaluations of the ‘European Social Fund+’, the ‘European Regional Development Fund’ and the ‘Just Transition Fund’. Platform experts also adopted eight opinions aimed at cutting red tape and modernising EU legislation in areas such as public procurement, personal data protection, the Digital Europe programme and professional mobility within the internal market.
