04/10/2023 (Agence Europe) – The European Commissioner for Agriculture, Janusz Wojciechowski, will be travelling to Greece on Thursday 5 and Friday 6 October to visit the regions affected by the recent floods. He will meet farmers and rural communities whose farms and infrastructure have been damaged. The extent of the damage to agriculture and forestry is of deep concern, according to the European Commission. The Commissioner will engage with local authorities and stakeholders to assess the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) tools that can be used to help Greece. Mr Wojciechowski has already announced that Greece will receive funds from the agricultural crisis reserve to deal with the consequences of the floods (see EUROPE 13253/12). (LC)
