28/09/2023 (Agence Europe) – The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, received, on Wednesday 27 September, the credentials of the European Union’s Ambassador to Ukraine, Katarina Mathernova. During their meeting, Mr Zelensky stressed that European integration was one of his country’s main priorities and that it was very important for the whole of Ukrainian society, both civilian and military. “We are facing a challenge, but a very pleasant one for us: starting negotiations with a view to future membership of the EU”, he said, according to a press release from the Ukrainian Presidency. “It is an honour to help Ukraine win the war and move forward on its path to the EU” commented Ms Mathernova on X (formerly Twitter).
