25/08/2023 (Agence Europe) – On 1 August, the Atlantic Alliance announced that 23 Allies had officially become associate sponsors of the NATO Innovation Fund (NIF), which will make its first investments later this year. “The NATO Innovation Fund is the world’s first multi-sovereign venture capital fund. It will invest in start-ups that develop cutting-edge technologies in order to harness the private sector’s capacity for innovation to solve critical defence and security problems”, according to NATO. The 23 countries are: Belgium, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, Turkey and the United Kingdom. Sweden has announced its wish to join the Fund when it joins NATO. (CG)
