25/08/2023 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 24 August, the Swedish authorities submitted a revised recovery plan, including a ‘REPowerEU’ chapter designed to accelerate the energy transition and reduce dependence on Russian hydrocarbons (see EUROPE 12921/18). According to a Commission press release, the ‘REPowerEU’chapter covers measures related to the energy efficiency of buildings and the streamlining of authorisation processes for the construction of electricity grids. The Swedish plan now has €3.46 billion in grants alone, of which €198.7 million comes directly from the ‘REPowerEU’ strategy. (MB)
