30/05/2023 (Agence Europe) – On 30 May, the Council of the European Union approved three new regulations designed to implement the ‘Windsor Framework’ agreed politically between the Commission and the UK government on 27 February, with a view to resolving once and for all the issues concerning Northern Ireland following the UK’s withdrawal from the EU. Specifically, the Council adopted the regulations designed to implement the solutions agreed with the United Kingdom on issues relating to public, animal and plant health, medicines and certain steel products. “The new rules will make it considerably easier to transport a range of goods from Great Britain to Northern Ireland, if they are destined for final consumption there”, says a press release. The European Parliament adopted these texts on 9 May (see EUROPE 13178/12). Link to the regulations: https://aeur.eu/f/744 ; https://aeur.eu/f/745 ; https://aeur.eu/f/746 .(SP)
