30/05/2023 (Agence Europe) – Norway, the United Kingdom, the United States (the Troika) and the EU endorse the African Union’s condemnation (following the AU Heads of State and Government Peace and Security Council on 27 May) of the actions of the two warring parties in Sudan, according to a press release issued on 29 May by the European External Action Service. The Troika and the EU “reaffirms its support for African leadership and the AU’s Roadmap for the Resolution of the Conflict in Sudan”. In particular, they “welcomes the AU’s work to establish an Expanded Mechanism and its Core Group to ensure inclusive and coordinated regional and international action to secure a viable peace process, and the resumption of the transition to civilian government and democracy in Sudan”.
