09/03/23 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission unveiled a report on the blue economy for investors on Thursday 9 March, at the BlueInvest Day 2023 event. This report presents investment activities and opportunities in the EU’s blue economy. In addition, it identifies key innovative technologies and a sample of companies ready to invest in ten sectors of the sustainable blue economy. The report aims to mobilise more private capital for clean tech in the blue economy, including solutions that can help combat climate change. Virginijus Sinkevičius, the European Commissioner for Oceans, said: “We have mobilised private capital for our public efforts on green ocean technologies. Our goal is to mobilise €1 billion by 2024.
