Council of Europe calls for drastic anti-corruption measures in Bosnia and Herzegovina

09/03/2023 (Agence Europe)In a report on Bosnia and Herzegovina published on Thursday 9 March, the Council of Europe’s Group of States against Corruption (GRECO) notes a “legal vacuum” in the prevention of corruption. It calls for an “operational corruption prevention action plan based on a risk assessment, specifically targeting persons with top executive functions”. This plan should be accompanied by “clear guidance regarding conflicts of interest and other integrity-related matters” developed in a “code of conduct”. GRECO also calls for more financial and human resources for the Agency for Prevention of Corruption and Coordination of the Fight against Corruption (APIK). Additionally, GRECO calls for action plans for the Border Police and State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA).
