02/03/23 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 2 March, the European Commission set out new rules on fees for the very large online platforms and search engines subject to its oversight under the Digital Services Act (DSA) (see EUROPE 13124/2). In concrete terms, the Commission’s delegated act aims to provide legal certainty for service providers designated as ‘very large platforms’ or ‘very large online search engines’, and to specify the methodology and procedures for calculating and collecting the supervisory fee. In addition, it also provides further details on the calculation of the estimated overall costs to be covered by the charges levied. The delegated act will have to be examined by the Parliament and the Council of the EU within three months. See the delegated act: https://aeur.eu/f/5md (TM)
