02/03/23 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday, 2 March, members of the European Parliament’s Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection (IMCO) adopted (36 votes in favour, one against) the provisional agreement that the Czech Presidency of the Council of the EU and the European Parliament’s negotiators reached in December on the ‘machinery and equipment’ regulation (see EUROPE 13085/17). This text aims to adapt the Machinery Directive to the market’s latest needs and to the risks stemming from emerging technologies.
