02/03/2023 (Agence Europe) – MEPs on the Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection of the European Parliament adopted on Thursday 2 March a report by Tomislav Sokol (EPP, Croatian) on accelerating the digitalisation of digital public services in support of the single market (36 votes in favour, one against, no abstentions). “The digital availability of public services proved crucial during the pandemic and, in these difficult geopolitical circumstances, we need to achieve full digitalisation of key public services”, commented the rapporteur on the dossier. The text aims, among other things, to facilitate relations between citizens, businesses, employees and governments, and should, among other things, “contribute significantly to the reduction of administrative barriers for entrepreneurs, in particular micro, small and medium-sized enterprises”.
