European Commission adds products to its list of dual-use items of which exports are monitored

On Thursday 23 February, the European Commission adopted a delegated act to update its list of export controls on dual-use items. The 2021 Regulation strengthened the rules by including products related to cyber surveillance and emerging technologies (see EUROPE B12717A4).

The latest amendment allows for the addition of emerging technologies in the biological sector, such as marine toxins, which can be synthesised and used as biological weapons. Other more practical and administrative...
