28/02/2023 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission announced on Tuesday 28 February that it had organised a technical information session on participation in Horizon Europe, the European funding programme for research and innovation (R&I), with the Taiwan National Science and Technology Council (NSTC). Taiwanese R&I project leaders will be able to apply for most of the Horizon Europe 2023-2024 work programme points as ‘Associated Partners’. They will be involved in the consortium, but will have to provide their own funding. The Taiwanese NSTC will provide funding support to R&I project leaders through a co-financing mechanism. In the future, the Commission plans to organise follow-up activities on a technical level to foster networking between the European and Taiwanese R&I communities and to stimulate collaborations between these communities under Horizon Europe.
