MEPs in favour of increased hemp production in EU

The European Parliament’s Agriculture Committee supported increased hemp production in the European Union on Tuesday 28 February at a workshop on hemp in the reform of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), attended by experts.

Herbert Dorfmann (EPP, Italian) said that the CAP could help the sector (rural development in particular, but also coupled payments). He suggested the possibility of planting hemp without fertiliser in environmental areas. Is it possible to use hemp as animal feed?...
