31/01/2023 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 31 January, the European Commission announced its support for ten pilot projects in the field of rail transport, to establish new cross-border services or improve existing ones. “As demand for green mobility grows, we need the rail industry to respond much better and faster, especially for long journeys and cross-border trips,” said Commissioner for Transport Adina Vălean. In detail, the ten selected projects should make it possible to set up new links between European capitals and major cities, such as Paris, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Munich, Milan and Rome. The Commission said that several of these projects should be operational before next summer. (TM)
