31/01/23 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 31 January, the European Commission announced the selection of 10 Erasmus+ pilot projects to test new forms of transnational cooperation between higher education institutions. Six of them will be responsible for creating a “European degree” label for graduates of programmes delivered through these transnational collaborations. The other four will focus on the development of a legal status for European university alliances. Indeed, in the absence of their own statute, they are struggling to set up governance systems that correspond to their needs (see EUROPE 13106/4). Furthermore, each pilot project will receive a maximum budget of €200,000 under Erasmus+ for a period of one year from spring 2023. They will be supported by higher education institutions, but also by national or regional authorities and other stakeholders. (HS)
