24/01/23 (Agence Europe) – MEPs on the European Parliament’s Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection (IMCO) approved, on Tuesday 24 January, the report for opinion by the Polish MEP, Adam Bielan (ECR), on the future data legislation (‘Data Act’) (33 votes in favour, 7 against, 0 abstentions) (see EUROPE 13080/11). On the same day, their counterparts in the European Parliament’s Committee on Legal Affairs (JURI) also voted in favour of the report for opinion by the Spanish MEP, Iban García del Blanco (S&D,) on the ‘Data Act’ (20 votes in favour, 2 against, 1 abstention). As a reminder, the European Parliament Committee on Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE) is the committee responsible for the substance of this dossier.
