90 innovative projects to share €13.5 million in European funding

24/01/2023 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission announced on Tuesday, 24 January, that the European Research Council (ERC) had awarded 90 new innovative projects Proof of Concept (POC) Grants during the third and final call of 2022. This type of ERC grant is reserved for individuals who already hold a grant from the ERC, and its purpose is to enable them to establish the feasibility or demonstrate the practical viability of an idea generated during their ERC-funded research. For example, they may assess the commercial potential [of an idea] or prepare patent applications related to their research. This third call had a budget of €13.5 million in grants under Horizon Europe. Each beneficiary is entitled to an allocation in the amount of €150,000.
