French CNIL fines smartphone game publisher Voodoo €3 million for targeted advertising

18/01/2023 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 17 January, the French National Commission for Information Technology and Civil Liberties (CNIL) announced that it had imposed a fine of €3 million on the smartphone game publisher Voodoo. This sanction follows an investigation by the CNIL, which found that Voodoo was processing information about users’ habits for advertising purposes, even though users had expressed their refusal to be monitored in this way.
