Brussels, 18/01/2023 (Agence Europe) – The Swedish Minister for EU Affairs, Jessica Roswall, whose country holds the EU Council Presidency, said, on the evening of Tuesday 17 January, that the EU Military Assistance Mission to Ukraine (EUMAM) will have trained two-thirds of the planned initial contingent of Ukrainian soldiers by the end of March. “EUMAM is delivering good results. The objective is to train 15,000 soldiers this winter. We are on track. (...). The goal is to train about 10,000 Ukrainian soldiers by the end of March”, she stressed during a debate in the European Parliament on Ukraine. In addition, Ms Roswall recalled that EU leaders had said they were ready to move quickly on additional sanctions against Russia. “Nothing is off the table” in terms of measures, she warned. (CG)
