18/01/2023 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 17 January, the European Commission launched a call for contributions from the public and the main actors and beneficiaries of EU humanitarian aid, to prepare the evaluation of its humanitarian action from 2017 to 2022. This exercise will examine how well the Commission has played its role as a provider of humanitarian aid and assess the results achieved in the different crisis contexts. The evaluation includes an analysis of the EU regulatory and policy frameworks and the delivery of aid to final beneficiaries. A further public consultation is planned for the fourth quarter of 2023. The results of the evaluation will be published in the 4th quarter of 2024. They will assist the Commission in developing future humanitarian aid operations, as well as thematic humanitarian aid policies and humanitarian partnerships. The call for papers will be open until 14 February: https://aeur.eu/f/4xx (AN)
